After a disappointing debut season at the Indian Super League, the red and gold brigade had to go through certain internal conflicts regarding the signature of final agreement with Sree cement Limited.
Certain reports claim that the Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has confirmed that the club will sign it's final agreement. Hence the club has started to prepare itself for the new season. With most of players having thier contracts expired it looks like a herculian task .
According to our sources close to the club, East Bengal have decided to retain the services of three Indian International players who would certainly lay foundation to thier recruitment.
Subrata Pal, Jeje Lalpekhlua and Mohammad Rafique are set to stay with the Kolkata Giant . Subrata Pal has got a hoard of experience playing in various top clubs in India and overseas. Jeje Lalpekhlua is currently the second most active top scorer for the Indian National team. Muhammad Rafique has also been a stellar performer for various ISL clubs and was one of the best Indians for the Red and Golds last time around.
Even though the club is running out of time the management will do it's very best to put forward a competitive team this season and will hope to achieve good results in India's elite club competition.
